Phishing Messages – Do Not Reply
The messages That Are Left on My Phone!
“I have a phone number here without a name could you tell me who you are”
This one is obviously a phishing scam – the sender wants you to reply so he has both a live number and a name to go with it so he can sell your information to more scammers.
There is no reason to reply because if their number isn’t in your contacts, it’s unlikely you know that person texting you. It is just a phishing attempt. Phishing for information – scammers act like they need something – they act like they have a wrong person or need to verify something from a person. They might ask a lot of questions or only one, but once they feel a comfort level there is much more they will try to pull from you.
This is what they do – scammers send messages that try to get you to reply based on emotions of doing the right thing or just answering a simple question, to not even think about it.
