MyChart Scam
I keep getting notices from “MyChart” which I do use but not from the email these are sent to. This is a health app that my doctor uses for messages and my health information and statistics (immunizations, medications, conditions, test results, etc.).
I don’t know what the scam is, but the emails are pretty convincing. If they are trying to get into your personal details by telling you to log in and stealing your log-in, they would have a load of personal information on you. They can manipulate certain information that you might have inputted.
I just know that the emails I get from “MyChart” are not from the email of my account, so I know they are bogus. The only emails I ever get are to alert me of a message or that a test result was uploaded. The real MyChart never asks me to login on a link but to get on my app and see the updated information. The real MyChart doesn’t even send me emails from them but from Optum telling me to check the MyChart app for new information.
Be very aware of such scams concerning your personal health and details. Pay attention to the way the app notifies you (like which email address and whether from that app or another – because Optum sends me all of MyChart notifications).
You do not want to give your log in nor personal health nor payment information to a bogus entity.
