Don’t Answer the Phone if You Don’t Know the Caller or Number
If you get a call that you are not expecting, or do not recognize, or do not have an identification for, don’t answer it. Let it go to voicemail. If it is important, then a voicemail will be left. Then you can figure if it is anything legitimate or a scam, but if you are not sure it’s a scam, ask someone who can better discern.

The robo-callers are relentless as they hit every succession of numbers in a series, so if only my dad would not answer random calls, it would be better. We have tried to put controls on his phone, but nothing is strong enough on his plan. We remind him constantly to just not answer calls unless he sees it’s one of us.
