What Do People Mean – If I Can’t Have It No One Can
If I can’t have it, no one can. This is a dangerous thing for anyone think. It often relates to a breakup of sorts – divorce, sibling jealousy, custody, etc.
We lived on a street that had some weird people living at the end of the street. We never quite understood that house, as there was once a police sting operation going on with the people there, with agents behind bushes on the street and telling us to stay inside. I do not know what happened with the police and them. They never really spoke to anyone on the street. Right after we moved, the man blew up the house after having his wife come by. Apparently, they were getting a divorce, and he wanted her to know he wasn’t going to sell the house to let her have half. He put loaded cartons of gas in areas of the house and let her know if he couldn’t keep it, no one would have it. He lit a match and the house was gone, plus a part of the house roof next door. The guy who bought our house was the one who took great photos that ended up in the news.
People who say “if I can’t have it, no one can” are usually disturbed and selfish. They often hate the other person way too much. This often happens with children – people kill selves and their children before letting the other person parent or have custody of them. This is an ultimate story of selfishness and cruelty.
There have been rulers who have caused destruction of their empires to prevent anyone else form having them. Notable is an effort by Hitler. There seems to be something like this going on now.
If someone says such, you might want to recommend that the person gets help or call someone to intervene with the person (like a family member). It rarely ends up well (unless they are just empty threats).
