Getting Many Texts for House Estimates

I am getting so many texts for house estimates. Whether for selling or buying my house, or doing renovations, or repair work – my texts are aimed at me to reply and ask about those. However, I did NOT ask for ANY of those estimates and certainly was not using my work phone. Even though they had my name and address (although many used a Goose Lane road address that I have no knowledge of), that did not mean they are legitimate. The fact that they are texting is odd as a preferred communication would be via a phone call or an email (or even US mail), giving the details of such. This makes it more likely that they are expecting me to text back and both confirm the number is live, plus to engage me in the scam they are running (certainly a “fee” would be required to start any process). There are several texts that are offering lawn care or mowing “in the area” but the originating number is from several states over (certainly not “in the area”). I don’t know how their scam will play out as I do not engage, but they might offer to set you up with a local number to call or have you call back, but probably part of the scam, since every time I block one number another of the same call comes in and leaves the same message. Once in a while I do get a call about such, but it’s the same message whether by text or voicemail. So, it must be pretty much the same scam. I block those phone numbers as well. All I can do is to keep blocking the numbers and not replying at all. They will spoof more numbers and use different phone numbers to originate from. PR More Scam Articles
