Editing Posts and Comments – Please!
You can correct a post or comment with an edit – re-word, edit or delete photos.
If you posted something on Facebook (or commented) and need to correct something or add something, or even to delete it, you don’t have to just correct in the comments, but you can redo your whole post.
On an iPhone or browser, there are 3 dots on the upper right of the post or comment. Click on that and you see options of edit or delete (there may be even more options). Then you can add content or photos to it, re-word it, spell a word right, or delete the post.
When you leave your post alone, and make corrections in the comments, people tend to react only the original post and not look through the comments to see anything new or corrected. For most people who look at your post, they will never see corrections nor edits that are in the comments. I know – in one group someone will post a photo of food, then people ask for the recipe in the comments, The person will post the recipe and someone new will ask for the recipe over and over instead of looking through the comments.
Please take advantage of editing your posts instead of relying on comments to correct them. And delete posts that are no longer relevant, like missing persons who’ve been found.
