Save Your Drawers

Drawers keep getting harder to close and fail if you don’t take care. Dresser drawers, kitchen drawers, any drawers.
Too much weight will ruin the tracks of the drawers – keep a good balance of weight on both sides and in middle so distribution is balanced. Try to put more weight on the sides so the middle of the drawer won't bend from the weight. Do not load very heavy objects unless it’s an industrial cabinet. The bottom can fall out or warp.
Close the drawers all the way shut every time you open them after you put things in or take out. If you leave them open, you stress the track and gliders. Eventually, the track or gliders may fail. Sometimes you just need to screw something in tighter.
In some drawers, you might want to oil the track once in a while.
It is often difficult to repair the track or replace the pieces. At that point you probably want to replace it. If you had taken better care, you could have saved the drawers. P.R.
