Docusign Scams
I have been getting more and more emails from “Docusign” and, at first glance, I thought I needed to sign something from the attorney’s office, as such has come up before.
When I read the email, it said there is a charge of $350 that needs approval from my PayPal account. I owed no one any such money. Plus Docusign would not be connected to a PayPal account to actually invoice you. It is a SCAM and should be forwarded to spoof@paypal.com
I just got two more this morning and forwarded them to PayPal. I bet the Docusign scam emails aren’t all concerning PayPal, so forward any to the entity it asks you to sign for if they are asking for payments. In any case Docusign will not send an unsolicited email asking for payment.
If you are ever unsure – call the entity that you might need to pay (never call or email from a number in the email where a scammer will be at the other end telling you all is fine with it) and talk to a person to see what you owe and how to pay it.
Only click to sign on documents you are expecting – someone should have told you they were sending it before it shows up in your email. If not, do not believe it.
