Financial and Debt Relief Scams

I get calls nearly daily from “national loan,” “debt relief,” and other financial scam programs (“National Financial Hardship Loan Center,” “National Advisory Center,” “Approval Center,” “State Loan Center,” “American Debt Program,” “Relief Advisory Center,” and more). They leave messages with those titles, and some say there is a code or such that expires in a day to take advantage of.
These are designed to get you to act before having time to think or research. They count on the victim to be in a financial situation and desperate to have money. Once you talk to them, they will promise to get money to you, but there will be conditions and you will likely have to give them your bank account information (‘to accept the payment”). From there they will get into your account to steal from it, perhaps even change the password. If you get any such type of call, hang up and block the call. Block the number if it’s a voicemail. DO NOT engage with such call – do not reply to them. They are complete scams. Even if they make it sound good, it’s not. They will get money from you.
They might offer to combine your debts and have you send a payment to them to pay your bills for you. Do not count on them to pay your bills – they might for a time or two (to gain your trust) but they will default on your payments and keep your money. This is a common scam.
Do not answer calls that you do not know or recognize. Let them go to voicemail so they don’t prey on your emotions and sucker you in. Leave these calls alone, block them, and if you are in a situation needing financial help, find a number to call that is not from said caller or message. PR More Scam Articles Need a Lawsuit Advance?
