Navigating Deadlines
Deadlines are often not negotiable – you need to take them seriously or lose credibility with you work, class, friends, family or whomever is affected by a passed deadline. Navigating deadlines - schedule tasks to get things done. Pull apart a project into pieces and schedule tasks to do on days before the deadline.
Strategize to get it done, and earlier than the due date so you can go over it and clear up any mistakes, or put in points you thought of later, or make it better with fresh eyes.
Put the tasks on your calendar and make each have its own deadline – block a part of your day to schedule for each task. Learn to live with and embrace deadlines – make a game or challenge for yourself. Reward yourself only after you met a deadline and check it off as done.
Carve out time for each step, and don’t put off any of them. If you wait until the last minute to even start, your product will suffer, or not even get done. Cramming to get something done at the end is so risky. You don’t want to hand in either nothing or a bad project.
Start working on your project earlier than you need and add more as you think on it. PR
