Camping Checklist Example
Use this as a guide - add your own needs and take out what doesn't work for you. You know the type trip you'll take so it will need to be tweaked to your trip needs. Hopefully there are some reminders you didn't think of. Read up on Camping Tips.
Packing List: * Tent or tarp shelter or hammock* Sleeping bag rated for the correct temperature range* Sleeping pad for under the bag* Jackets - one for warmth and one for rain* Changes of clothes in layers - long and short sleeve, shorts, pants, underwear, hiking socks, wool socks* Hiking boots* Hats - one for sun protection, one for warmth* Food - 3 meals, snacks, energy* Mess kit or plate, cup, fork, spoon, and cooking items - pot, frying pan, stirring spoon, spatula, etc.* Food heating system* Multiple use knife, Swiss Army type* Water and/or water purity tablets* Water proof matches, or a lighter* First aid kit or supplies* Compass and map - phone may not work or pick up a signal* Flashlight and batteries, candles* Mirror for signaling if in trouble* Sunscreen and sunglasses* Bear spray if necessary* Bug repellent* Rope, shovel (or garden spade), axe* Plastic bags for garbage* Toilet paper* Any medications you take* Biodegradable soap* Repair kit, sewing kit* Backpack that puts your weight on your hips* Anything else you might want, like binoculars, camera, lantern, pillow, fishing/hunting/archery gear, etc.
