You probably want to introduce your readers to more of your new offers in
your business - so let them know you will be updating them with what they are
wanting to see more about. They will probably sign up willingly from your
website just to get more information from you, if they are interested in that
topic. Writing ezines and newsletters are great ways to reach out to those
audiences and site visitors.
Make sure you target your topic as narrowly as you can to keep the interest
of the readers. Don't write about duck blinds when the readers want to be
kept up on recipes and cooking tools. Instead - give a new recipe for cooking
the duck that the hubby brings home after hunting - and offer a link at the
end of the recipe to let the hubby know about the duck blind. See how you can
effectively, and without insult, sneak the topic in, in an approved way?

Always make sure to
write your articles and ezine onto a Word or other processor document, and
run a spell-check, and grammar check if you have the
option. Get someone to personally check it for you, as
well – you will not read it the same way as others do. In
fact, put it away for a day or two and re-read it – it might
get you to see something that needs to be changed or
added. When reading, pretend someone else wrote it –
and perhaps you’ll read it differently.
Make a template of your ezine - make it look and read the way you are happy
with, and then save it as a template (in Word, in your web page file, as an
autoresponder - in the type of document you will deliver or refer your readers to).
Every time you update your ezine, just replace the sections with the updates you
will publish - and save your self the work of writing the entire thing our every
issue.
Remember - if you write an article or write your ezine with mistakes, misspellings, bad grammar, etc., it
ruins your credibility. If you put other people's articles in your ezine, make sure to correct the errors - email the
writer and ask permission to maek the changes, or put a "sic" note at any correction you make. It's your responsibility
to make sure all content in your publication is correct, easy to read, and without mistakes. Your credibility
also relies on your having correct and good content. Make sure to let the writer know you are using his or her
article. If someone writes a bad article, just skip it - don't use it. IT's not worth risking your readers
wondering about you and why you chose it.
Don't take anyone else's articles and re-write them to pretend they are your own - someone went to a lot of trouble to
research or experience something in order to write about it. It is only right to give credit where credit is due - and
you might become goood friends with the writer if you communicate with him or her.

You will need to decide how your ezine will get sent out - via a list server,
or will you manage your list on your own? To keep your own
list and send it out - you will need a good mailing program, such as
World
Merge - this allows you to send out to your list, no matter how many, or
how many different lists you keep - just change the "from" characteristics. Great program -
highly recommended. If you send and manage your own, you will need to maintain your
own subscriber list - including deleting the no-good addresses and removal
requests. You will also have to get with your ISP and make sure you are
cleared to send the mailings. Some ISPs limit how many emails per hour you
can send, or limit in some other way.

Once you have roughly 1000 subscribers, you can start to sell advertising space, in
the form of sponsor ads, classified ads or solo ads. Choose what works best for your
readers.
One tactic is to list or send out your articles to give you added exposure if you
respect your readers and send them the article a couple days earlier - they
want to have the exclusive right to see them first. You want to be sure they
want to stick around to see what you have to say - rather than seeing it all over the
Internet in all the other ezines. They can be loyal to you if you are loyal to them.
